#6 What your Thoughts and Google Have in Common

Our brain loves clarity and straightforwardness.
Unfortunately this also means that sometimes it would rather tell you that „EVERYTHING sucks“ instead of allowing complexity, nuance or holding a variety of perspectives simultaneously. Literally for the sake of conserving energy.

The caveat to this is that what we believe to be true is what we will find evidence for in our surrounding.
So our thoughts act like very powerful, self-amplifying filters. This is how we can easily get caught up in a grimm loop of doom and gloom and think we are just making an observation!

Therefore - in this weeks episode, I teach a very simple but effective self-coaching tool that helps you navigate those moments of black and white thinking. Not to gaslight you into chanting it away with positivity but to actually get you a more realistic perspective onto things - coz what in life ever is actually black OR white?

In this episode you will learn:
- why all or nothing thinking is always a good reason to be suspicious of your brain
- what it means to give equal air time to the other side of a story
- how objective observations are usually an optional interpretations
- why you will likely find a lot of evidence for your thoughts being TRUE
